About

Chaos into order,on purpose.

Most businesses I talk to do not need reinventing. They need one thing moved, and everything else left alone. That is the whole job.

Where the name comes from

I played for years as a pivot, the deep midfielder whose job is to take the ball under pressure, in a tight space, with someone arriving on your shoulder, and turn it into a clean pass forward. Nothing about the role is glamorous and all of it decides the game.

A good pivot does not chase the highlight. They read what is in front of them and turn possession into direction. That is the closest thing I have to a description of this work.

Your business is already moving. My job is the turn, not the running.

What that means on a project

I do not arrive with a template and a list of things you are doing wrong. I start by learning how the business actually runs: what a customer needs to see before they will call, what is already earning its place, and where enquiries are quietly leaking away. Then I change that, and leave the rest.

In the logo, the original road never gets crossed out. That is not a nice idea about a mark, it is the working method. You have run this business for years. I have been looking at it for a week. The arithmetic there is not complicated, and it is why I ask a lot of questions before I show you anything.

On being told the truth

If a project does not need what you asked for, you will hear that before you pay for it. I have talked people out of a rebuild they did not need more than once, and I would rather do that than take the money and watch it not work.

The same goes the other way. If something is outside what I do well, I will say so and point you at someone better rather than learn it slowly on your budget.

The free work

Every month, one build goes out at no charge. A local non-profit, or a business doing something worth doing that cannot fund the work. Same process, same standard, no invoice, and no obligation to be a case study or put a badge in your footer.

The cap is what makes it real. One a month is a commitment I have to plan around, rather than a line I get to say.
